Technology

In an increasingly advanced technological world, technology plays a major role in education, accelerated by the pandemic. The technology competency area as defined by ACPA and NASPA (2015) “focuses on the use of digital tools, resources, and technologies for the advancement of student learning, development, and success as well as the improved performance of student affairs professionals” (p. 33). Throughout my experience in the higher education field, I have had the opportunity to receive training and utilize various software and platforms thereby increasing my technological literacy. Below are the outcomes that I have met in this competency area and the experiences that have helped me achieve them. In a new environment, I will continue to learn new software tools and stay current with technological advancements and trends to maximize student learning and engagement, gather and analyze data, distribute information, and increase accessibility.
